Introspections

Serendipity!

This morning, I had one of the most beautiful moments!  One of those moments where, if you are a spiritual person like I am, you pause and just know that there are other forces at work in this life.

It was cold and I was all bundled up.  There is still ice and snow in the parking lot from the little bit of snow we had over the weekend, and I had just carefully picked my way to the door of my office building in my 4-inch heels, all bundled up in my scarf and coat, covering the suit I actually had to wear today for my court hearing this afternoon and land use hearing tonight.  My bag was heavy and my arms were full.  I reached to pull open the door, and as I did, my eyes went to this little rock, tucked quietly near the door stop, in a place where if I had been in more of a hurry, I probably wouldn’t have noticed it:

Wait one minute … stop!  That’s a beautiful little blue rock, painted the color of the sea that I miss to the very core of my soul, with my favorite word in the world written on it!!!

My brain quickly found the memory of a friend and her daughter who have done this rock thing – and I thought to myself, “Could I be so lucky for this little rock to have found me just when I needed it?”

So I turned it over, and found the message…

Now who was this special person who made this little rock and left it here for me to find?  Not that many people know about my blog – LifeSerendipity – so which of my friends did a little something to put a smile on my face?  Or was it fate?  So I went to the Facebook page, and left this short message.

And the beautiful soul who made this little rock – a stranger to me before today – having no idea who would find it – wrote this:  “I am so excited to hear from you!  I always pray I am placing them in the perfect spot for the exact person at just the right time.  I really appreciate you showing you found it.”

Just when I needed it, my tears started and I let go of a lot of stress I’ve been holding.  I do my best to make the right decisions, do the right things, be the person I was raised to be.  And this beautiful little rock took my breath away and reminded me that there are good people in this world.  That life is bigger than us.  And that it’s all going to be ok even when we aren’t in control.

Now if this isn’t Serendipity, I don’t know what is!
